Hi! I’m Annie Purpura, the sole creator of Hola Tonto Ceramics. I am a self-taught ceramicist from Chicago, IL. I have a BFA with an emphasis in Photography from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and have lived and worked in Chicago, New York, & Los Angeles. My work embodies humor and is often bizarre.  It challenges the mundane, and champions weirdos.  It is loud and expressive, and is ultimately influenced by nature and punk rock. Currently, everything is made by hand by me in a community studio so I appreciate all the patience you can give me to create and get these pieces out to you. Thank you for your support, it truly means the world to me.
